“To take Franch leave” significa “andarsene alla chetichella, andasene da un posto senza salutare”. E’ interessante notare che in francese per indicare l’idea di “andarsene alla chetichella” si dice “filer à l’anglaise” e cioè, tradotto in inglese “to take ENGLISH leave!”
